This Alexander Valley Sauvignon Blanc white wine was fermented in a combination of stainless steel and neutral French oak. The aromatic expertise of winemaker Marcia Torres Forno, originally from Chile, shines through in each bottle. Achieving the signature delicacy of Matanzas Creek’s Sauvignon Blancs requires strict attention to detail from the vineyard—where the timing of the pick is determined by precursor aromas of the fruit—to the cellar—where a range of different fermentation vessels are used to best cultivate the aromas. For the past four decades, Matanzas Creek Winery has focused on creating site-expressive wines. Throughout the years our methodology has remained the same: utilize a range of vineyard clones and fermentation vessels, and explore new farming and winemaking techniques, to produce thoughtfully crafted, expressive, and balanced wines. Today, all Matanzas Creek Winery estate vineyards are sustainably farmed and are certified under the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CCSW).
