This classic Bordeaux from the epic 2015 vintage has rich, smooth flavors of black cherry, cassis, mocha and licorice with a velvety mouthfeel. It is from a small production estate which typically produces about 2500 cases per year, and the wine is aged in 20% new oak from 100% handpicked grapes. Owned by Guillaume Touton, from whom we have been buying Bordeaux for over 30 years, the 21.4-hecatare Les Grands Marechaux estate has sandy clay and limestone soils in the appellation of Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux. The vineyard is planted to 84% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. The terroir is clay, limestone and sandy soils. Serve with grilled and roasted meats, aged French cheeses and meat pâté's.
