The term “garagistes†originated in Bordeaux in the 1980’s and referred to a group of innovative winemakers who produced exceptional wines in their garages rather than in grand chateaux. Since 1979, we have carried on the garagistes tradition of innovation and excellance in a chateau alternative locale.Taft Street Winery continues in the garagistes traditions to this day, producing limited production, handcrafted wines from select Sonoma County vineyards.Our goals have not changed. We make great wine; make it available at a fair price; and, most of all, have fun in the process.
